30 Aug Madame Saks Diary, whispers beneath the waves
Beneath the waves

An excerpt from Madame Saks diary:
It was April 1912. I was just a baby then.
Mom kept the telegram from Dad and told me the story years later.
“Greetings from across the pond. An opportunity of a lifetime. White Star Steamer. Boarding the RMS Titanic for home. See you in six days, much love, W.S.”

Mom recalled:
The news started coming in three days later. Then the Carpathia arrived on the 18th with the survivors. She went to Pier 59 and asked around. It was chaos.
Surprisingly, she got a story from one of the survivors who recognized Dad’s picture, “He was helping women and children into lifeboats, I remember him. He calmly assured them that help was on the way.”
Mother said she could imagine his voice, “He was always the optimist, I can hear him saying it to them.”
Being older now, I relived those moments through Mom, and my heart sank just like hers. But unlike Mom, I could do something about it. I have the Totem and my crystal, and together, time is open to me now.
Travelling back in time isn’t easy, though. The lines of history are tenacious. Circumstance always fights you. It would require exceptional bravery. I need to be vigorous with my will and my vision.
I will save him. I will go back and warn him of his future. I am a Fortune Teller, after all. If he does not heed, I’ll save him by any means. Take him back using the Totem. This is what I must do.
