Totem 23

…cont’d from Totem 22... Quantum science shows us that electrons are not perfectly localized ‘objects’ but are strangely uncertain in every respect. Yet still, science can predict their behaviour with remarkable precision. However ultimately, philosophically, there is a fundamental quality of the atomic world that transcends purely ‘scientific’ inquiry. And speaking of science, those who endeavour to understand the brain simply by mapping its electrical signature (as if it were a computer), must confront the idea that electrical energy is not completely localized within the material. In this way, the understanding of the flow of ‘electrical signals’ through the brain is a shallow investigation. Like trying to understand the ocean from a cup of its water.
